Celebrating Success: Caitlyn’s Journey in Property Factoring

caitlyn

We’re thrilled to spotlight one of our dedicated Team Managers, Caitlyn, who recently achieved her Professional Diploma in Property Factoring from The Property Institute. After sitting for her final exam in March, Caitlyn proudly received her qualification in June, marking a significant milestone in her career.

Caitlyn’s journey has been driven by a desire for continuous learning and professional development. “I strive to represent the company to the best of my ability” she shares. One of her greatest joys in her role is managing people and navigating diverse personalities. “I find immense satisfaction in watching team members grow and flourish” she adds, highlighting her passion for coaching and leading.

Her work also involves managing traditional tenements throughout the Southside of Glasgow, a role that comes with the unique challenge of preserving historic buildings. Caitlyn finds this aspect of her job particularly rewarding, as it combines her professional skills with a respect for the local heritage.

Reflecting on her career so far, Caitlyn considers her promotion to Team Manager at just 23 years old as one of her proudest moments. “This opportunity allowed me to develop personally and professionally, learning from both my experiences and the younger version of myself” she explains. Now, nearly seven years later, Caitlyn has benefited greatly from managing diverse teams and achieving two diplomas: ARLA and TPI.

Caitlyn emphasises the importance of reflection in her career. “I’ve learned to chase my goals without fear, and to set a positive example for those around me” she advises. Her message to her younger self? “Hard work pays off, and it’s essential to enjoy life while pursuing your dreams. We only get one shot at it!”

As Caitlyn has recently reached her two-year milestone with HPMS, she reflects on how her role has evolved. “I’ve settled into the team and learned the expectations of my district and clients” she says. Achieving the TPI diploma in March 2024 has been a proud accomplishment, especially as someone relatively new to factoring.

Caitlyn began her property career in lettings back in 2016, moving from Property Manager to Senior Property Manager, and eventually to Team Manager by 2018. After six years at Countrywide, she transitioned to factoring with HPMS, motivated by a desire to broaden her property knowledge and progress internally.

Her inspiration to enter the property industry came from family members, coupled with a belief in real estate as a strong investment opportunity. “In the long term, I want to invest in property myself and manage it independently” she shares.

Caitlyn wishes to enlighten others about the complexities of her job. “Many people outside the industry can be naive about the role of factoring and property companies” she notes. That’s why she enjoys meeting clients and educating them on the vital services that factors provide.

On her personal bucket list? Scuba diving and witnessing Celtic in a Champions League final. For now, Caitlyn keeps her spirits high by exploring new destinations whenever work allows.

As Caitlyn continues to excel in her career, we celebrate her achievements and look forward to her future contributions. Her story is a reminder that with hard work, passion, and a commitment to growth, success is always within reach.
