Glasgow city council bin replacement programme

Glasgow City Council, as part of a 3-phase programme, continue to roll out their Bin Replacement Programme across the city, removing 48,000 small metal dust bins from 145,000 flatted properties and replacing them, free of charge, with wheeled bins.

The Programme is scheduled to be completed by December 2020 and Glasgow City Council hope these improvements bring a number of significant benefits to homeowners including:

  • Improvement in bin containment
  • Increase in recycling opportunities
  • Reduction in pest control issues.

All Hacking and Paterson Management Services customers living in flats designated for these changes will receive a letter from the Local Authority prior to replacement, however,  if any of our customers feel their property would benefit from early replacement this might be possible, if the Local Authority’s specific BRP early adopter criteria is met.

For example, if any of our customers are considering back court/bin shed building improvements, a meeting can be arranged with the BRP team to discuss this. Homeowners can contact the BRP team at LandServices.Mailroom@glasgow.gov.uk and we would be delighted to assist our flat-owning customers in progressing this.
