At HPMS, we are passionate about our corporate and social responsibility and are delighted that we have been able to support so many local and national charities through our Charitable Giving Initiative during 2022 as well as forming a corporate partnership with Scotland’s mental health charity, SAMH.
We are pleased to announce that a second corporate partnership has been formed with FareShare Scotland, the leading Scottish food redistribution charity. To mark the significance of this relationship, we are delighted to donate £5,000 to help the charity tackle hunger and food waste across the country.
The charity saves surplus food from going to waste and redistributes it to frontline charities and community groups supporting vulnerable people across Scotland. There are 4 regional centres across the country – Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, and Aberdeen – that distribute good quality surplus food to vulnerable people, including homeless hostels, children’s breakfast clubs and lunch clubs for older people across all 32 local authorities in Scotland.
This also helps the environment by reducing the carbon and water impacts of wasting good-to-eat food.
Rachel Carr, Senior Network Partnership Manager for FareShare UK, said:
“What a lovely surprise to receive! Thank you for choosing FareShare Scotland to donate £5,000 to. It’ll really help to support our network in Scotland to deliver food out to the organisations that we work with, especially in this cost-of-living crisis.”
The charity has launched a campaign which focuses on the rising cost of living, “Running on Empty,” which highlights the difficult circumstances that many families are facing across the UK. In addition to providing healthy meals, the organisations who are supported by FareShare also provide vital support with issues like unemployment, homelessness, mental health, and addiction.
