With the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, many charities are currently concerned about their financial position. Here at Hacking and Paterson, we strongly believe that, given the severe impact charities are facing during these difficult times, it is vitally important to ensure that assistance is given where and when possible.
As part of our monthly charitable donation commitment, we are delighted to donate £500.00 to assist the great work of CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland.)
For over twenty years, CHAS have been offering a full family support service for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This includes palliative care, family respite and support – through their hospices, homecare services and hospital presence.

“On behalf of the children and families who use CHAS, thank you very much for this kind donation. This has been a tough year for everybody, and like many charities, CHAS has seen a big reduction in voluntary income. This is worrying, because the service CHAS provide is so crucial to families going through the toughest heartache imaginable. We want to be there for every family who is losing their child, and it is vital that we have the funding to do this. That is why this gift is so important, as it helps us to reach our goal of being there for every family.
COVID19 has stolen time away from all of us; time with loved ones, and time doing the things we love. But for most of us, we will be able to make up for lost time when the pandemic is over. For the families supported by CHAS, time together was already incredibly precious. For some, there won’t be a chance to make up for lost time. That is why it is so important that we continue to help families not only through the tough days, but to help them make magical memories together, memories that last a lifetime. That is why we launched the UK’s first ever Virtual Children’s Hospice. From bereavement support over the phone, to Clown Doctor visits via zoom; from virtual memory days, to Zoom baking clubs. We have continued to be there for families, and to help them make the very best of the time they have.
